At the start of the 2013 season, the CQ team has decided to make several changes to the point scales system.
-the CQ point scales have been optimized by making the speed of decrease more equal for all stage races. The same thing happened for all one-day races. -the former 2.WT category has been split up. Like in the one day classics, there is also a difference in status and prestige in the WorldTour stage races besides the Grand Tours. The bigger races Paris-Nice, Tirreno-Adriatico, Vuelta al Pais Vasco, Dauphiné and Tour de Suisse have been categorized as 2.WT1, the other WT-stage races as 2.WT2. -more riders receive points in the categories 2.1, 2.2 and NC3. -the points in WC U23 are now equal to NC3.
